5-3XXXX accounts - income (contributions) and expenses
Funds received from donors, organizations or other outside sources that are restricted by them for a specific department or operating purposes. The Restricted and Endowment Funds department ensures that funds are deposited into the proper accounts and that any activity against these accounts satisfies the donor's intended use of the contribution.
The Restricted and Endowment Funds department is also responsible for opening new Restricted accounts and securing the appropriate correspondence necessary to support the creation of new accounts. In any cases where restricted contributions are given to the University to support research activities, the Division of Grant and Contract Accounting should be contacted to open an account.
